Jasper Hill is one of Australia's most respected family-owned wine estates, established by Ron and Elva Laughton in 1975 in Victoria's Heathcote region. Renowned for its uncompromising approach to viticulture and winemaking, the estate has become synonymous with the distinctive character of Heathcote Shiraz.
At the heart of Jasper Hill are two celebrated vineyards, Georgia's Paddock and Emily's Paddock, planted on the region's ancient, iron-rich Cambrian soils. Farmed organically and biodynamically, these vineyards produce wines of remarkable concentration, structure and individuality, with a strong emphasis on expressing their origins.
Our collection includes the estate's celebrated Shiraz releases alongside Georgia's Paddock Riesling and Nebbiolo, spanning selected vintages.
Georgia's Paddock
Georgia's Paddock is the foundation of Jasper Hill's reputation and home to some of its most recognised wines.
The flagship Georgia's Paddock Shiraz is celebrated for its depth, concentration and ageing potential, expressing the distinctive character of Heathcote's ancient red soils through rich fruit, savoury complexity and firm structure.
The vineyard also produces Georgia's Paddock Riesling, offering a fresh, finely structured white wine, and Georgia's Paddock Nebbiolo, an intriguing expression of the Italian variety grown in Australian conditions.
Together, these wines reveal the diversity of a single vineyard and Jasper Hill's commitment to producing wines with a clear sense of place.
Emily's Paddock
Emily's Paddock is the estate's second celebrated vineyard, producing one of Jasper Hill's most distinctive red wines.
The Emily's Paddock Shiraz Cabernet Franc combines the concentration and structure of Heathcote Shiraz with the aromatic lift and savoury character of Cabernet Franc.
Produced in limited quantities, it offers a compelling contrast to Georgia's Paddock Shiraz, highlighting the individual character of the estate's vineyards.
The Character of Heathcote
Located in central Victoria, Heathcote is renowned for its ancient Cambrian soils, particularly the deep red, iron-rich earth that has become closely associated with the region's finest Shiraz.
These soils, combined with the region's growing conditions, contribute to wines of concentration, structure and distinctive regional character.
Jasper Hill's longstanding commitment to organic and biodynamic farming places particular importance on vineyard health and the natural expression of these soils, allowing each wine to reflect the character of its site and vintage.
