The Suntory Hibiki Hiroshi Senju Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth is a beautifully crafted expression of Japanese artistry and cultural reverence, created to accompany the iconic Hibiki whisky. Inspired by the work of renowned artist Hiroshi Senju, whose sweeping brushstrokes and subtle gradations evoke the spirit of nature, this furoshiki transforms the act of gifting into an elegant ceremonial moment. Woven from high-quality fabric with a refined texture, the cloth carries Senju’s signature aesthetic, where dynamic movement meets serene balance, making it as appreciable as the whisky it enfolds.
The design is both timeless and expressive, allowing the cloth to function not merely as wrapping but as a keepsake with enduring beauty. In traditional Japanese culture, furoshiki serve as symbols of respect and mindful presentation, and this version elevates that tradition with artistic resonance and cultural significance. Whether used to present Hibiki as a gift or as a cherished keepsake in its own right, the cloth enhances the ritual of sharing with an added layer of sophistication. Through its marriage of visual art and functional elegance, the Hibiki Hiroshi Senju Furoshiki exemplifies the deep artistry and attention to detail that define Suntory’s approach to both whisky and cultural craft.

Hibiki was introduced in 1989 to mark the 90th anniversary of Suntory, Japan’s pioneering house of whisky. Named for the Japanese word for 'resonance,' it reflects a philosophy of harmony, not only between ingredients, but also between culture, tradition and nature. Every expression in the Hibiki range blends malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita, matured across a range of casks and meticulously composed.
Today, Hibiki represents the peak of Japanese whisky blending. Its bottles are instantly recognisable and its flavour profile is designed for balance, complexity and finesse. Hibiki captures the essence of Japanese refinement: from its layered aromas and precise structure to the quiet clarity of its presentation. Each edition continues a lineage of innovation rooted in respect for nature, craft and time.
Hibiki is inspired by Japan’s 24 subtle seasons, Saji and Inatomi source whiskies from three places, Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries. A tribute to the 24 subtle season changes from the ancient traditional lunar calendar, to emphasise the crucial role of Japanese nature on whisky maturation. These whiskies are meticulously blended to created a sense of "wa" - a oneness which unveils a full orchestra of flavours and aroma.
The current incarnations are made from a blend of more than 30 individual malt and mellow grain whiskies, and the final blend is topped off with a whisky aged more than 30 years. This concludes a process that sees the master blender taste over 300 malt whisky samples a day. From its inception to now, Hibiki embodies harmony and precision in every detail. Its craftsmanship, down to the elegant 24-sided bottle reflecting the 24 seasons, showcases a vision of refined resonance and care.
