The GlenDronach 21 Year Old Parliament Single Malt Whisky
The GlenDronach 21 Year Old Parliament Single Malt Whisky is created in The GlenDronach distillery in the Forgue valley in Aberdeenshire, which is named after the sourice of its water; the Dronac burn. GlenDronach has a history of enterprising owners from the flamboyant James Allardice to the ambitious Walter Scott. Although times have moved on, the processes used to create the GlenDronach have remained largely unchanged. Today's malt is created using great Oregon pine washsbacks and the same shaped stills used in 1826.
The GlenDronach 21 Year Old Parliament Single Malt Whisky has a appearance of deep amber, with a cherry wood sheen. The nose shows a delicate mix of ripe autumnal fruits - notably blackberries and re plums. Rich Oloroso sherry and candied orange segments. Spiced oatmeal biscuits and toasted oak fragrances byring excellent weight and balance. The palate expresses resolute flavours of fine Oloroso sherry and bitter chocolate sauce, which has been spread liberally over homemade plum pudding. This is all infused with fabulous spicy notes - cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Full bodied with smooth tannins. The finish is long and lingering and leaves one wanting just one more drop.
