The GlenDronach 18 Year Old Allardice Single Malt Whisky 700ml
The GlenDronach 18 Year Old Allardice Single Malt Whisky is distilled in the Forgue valley in Aberdeenshire, which is named after the source of its water; the Dronac burn. The GlenDronach has a history of enterprising owners from the flamboyant James Allardice to the ambitious Walter Scott. Although times have moved on, the processes used to create the GlenDronach have remained largely unchanged. Today's malt is created using great Oregon pine washbacks and the same sharped stills used in 1826.
The GlenDronach 18 Year Old Allardice Single Malt Whisky has a bright deep gold appearance with a tawny centre. The nose is lovely, sweet and fabulously complex, with fudge, fruit compote and glacier morello cherries coming through. The palate shows remarkable flavours of stewed fruits and allspice. Aged Oloroso and toasted walnut bread combined with chocolate orange. The finish is tremendously complex and long.
