Bracingly dry, beautifully Tasmanian—Riesling for the purist.

Pressing Matters R0 Riesling 2022 is the driest in the lineup from this acclaimed Tasmanian producer—an acid-driven, zero-residual-sugar wine that delivers sharp focus and serious length. Inspired by the Rieslings of the Mosel but firmly grounded in the terroir of Coal River Valley, this is a wine that thrives on purity, structure and saline detail.

Despite its searing dryness, the R0 is anything but austere. Aromatics of preserved lime, dried wildflowers and crisp pear give way to a palate laced with grapefruit, fennel, lemongrass and flint. There's tension, minerality and drive—yet it never feels punishing, just finely tuned. With low alcohol and laser-like precision, it's a masterclass in cool-climate winemaking.

Pair it with oysters, sashimi or chargrilled prawns. Built to refresh now or evolve gracefully over the next 6–8 years.

      Pressing Matters

Two families brought together from a love of wine supported by a passionate and talented team. Greg Melick and wife Michelle founded Pressing Matters in 2002, inspired by the potential of the neighbouring Morningside Vineyard to produce the noble European varieties of Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet. The first vintage was in 2006.Greg's love of Mosel and Burgundy wines inspires Pressing Matters but Greg’s role as father and grandfather are his proudest achievements.

Not long after, the opportunity to unite the Morningside vineyard with Pressing Matters saw the Hall family join the Melicks as partners in late 2019. A friendship formed from a love of burgundy and holidays shared in the family home in Meursault now fuels the next stage of the Pressing Matters story. Significant investment in a new winery, tasting room and general infrastructure and new plantings are some of the first steps of the partnership.
