      Pooley was established in 1985 when the family planted 10 rows of Riesling & 7 rows of Pinot Noir on their property at Coal River in Southern Tasmania. This wine comes off those first planted Riesling vines. Such an enticing wine from the first sniff; jasmine, grapefruit & white flowers on the nose, while the palate reveals lavender, lime zest, green apple & fennel. Seductive stuff.

      The 2023 Pooley Riesling comes primarily from estate vineyards (with a little coming from a well established Riesling vineyard nearby on Middle Tea Tree Rd) being a blend of fruit from younger vines from Butchers Hill and Cooinda Vale. Whole bunch pressed and aged for 6 months on fine lees before bottling. An ideal vintage for Tasmania and for the Coal River region with all the elements that make for great quality wine.

      A bright and crunchy cool-climate Riesling with notes of lime blossom, jasmine, citrus peel and granny smith apple on the nose. Sweet citrus, grapefruit and mandarin follow on the palate with a nervy acid profile and a textured, lingering finish.
