Penfolds Bin 138 SGM 2018
Drawing inspiration from wines of the Southern Rhône, Penfolds Bin 138 blends shiraz, grenache, and mataro in varying proportions, creating full-bodied wines possessing heady and rich perfume. Every year the fruit for this wine is sourced from old Barossa Valley wines. Some over 100 years old! The fruit is then matured for 12 to 15 months in seasoned oak hogsheads, allowing the three different varietals to shine through. The first vintage release of this varietal blend was the 1992, labelled ‘Old Vine Barossa Valley’. With the 1998 vintage it was then elevated to Bin status.
