Nikka Yoichi Hokkaido Release Limited Edition 360ml
In 1918, a young Japanese man with an ambition to make genuine whisky went alone to Scotland to unveil the secret of whisky making. He is Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky.
Masataka Taketsuru chose the town of Yoichi in Hokkaido because of the similar environmental conditions to Scotland, where he learned whisky-making. Yoichi malts are described as bold and strong with refined peaty notes and smokiness brought by the traditional direct coal-fired distillation. Sea breeze from the Ishikari Bay delivers a briny hint to the whisky during maturation.
This limited edition release, Hokkaido, comes with the original box and is a must try for all Japanese whisky fans. There is no released aged statement or information about year of distillation or bottling.
