Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Blended Malt Japanese Whisky 700ml

This is an expression launched in 2020, with a refined formula and a new label design to represent the brand. While remaining a smooth and well-balanced blended malt, the formula further showcases an exquisite balance between elegant softness and deep complexity along with rich mouthfeel and smokiness.

The whisky opens fresh, fruity and inviting, with an abundance of white fruits with peach and freshly pressed grapes moving into fine patisserie notes of amandine, marzipan and biscuit. On the palate we are greeted with coffee, liquorice, toasted oak, coffee grounds and cigars, before a finish that has a base of liquorice candy all the way. A refined bitterness quickly gives way to more integrated, medicinal aromas of camphor and eucalyptus before eventually fading out on malted barley notes.
