For the first time we have a barrel exchange between Japanese distiller. Nagahama and Saburomaru have come together to produce the Nagahama x Saburomaru Inazuma Synergy Blend Blended Japanese Whisky. A first collaborative whisky between Japanese craft distilleries.

Founded on the shores of Lake Biwa in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture in 2016, Nagahama Distillery is the smallest distillery in Japan. They produce single malt whiskys and also blends carefully selected whisky purchased from overseas and ages it in Nagahama’s climate.

In 1952 Wkatsuro Shuzo, a sake brewer and shochu producer, obtained a license to distill whisky, creating the Saburomaru Distillery located in Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture. Malt distillation began in 1954 and continued intermittently until 2016 when Wakatsuru Shuzo decided to renovate its facilities in the Hokuriku area to produce whisky.

Using a non-peated single malt distilled and aged in Nagahama and a peated single malt distilled and aged in Saburomaru, they have constructed a blend recipe so that the individuality of each raw liquor becomes more prominent.
