Product Description:
Radiant complexity and poised maturity define this distinguished vintage rosé Champagne from Moët & Chandon. The Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2016 is the 45th rosé vintage release from the house, created to express the singular personality of the 2016 growing season in Champagne. Marked by climatic contrasts that combined intense spring rainfall with a dry, warm summer, the vintage produced wines of concentration, freshness and remarkable precision. The blend combines Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, with a portion of still red wine contributing both structure and depth of colour. Extended cellar ageing allows the wine to develop layered tertiary complexity while preserving the vibrancy that characterises the house style.
In the glass, the wine reveals a refined interplay of red berry fruit, blood orange, spice and smoky mineral nuances. Pinot Noir forms the backbone of the cuvée, bringing vinosity and tension, while Chardonnay contributes brightness and elegance. The palate is both generous and controlled, supported by a fine mousse and energetic acidity that carry the wine through a long, savoury finish. Subtle notes of pastry, toasted nuts and dried flowers emerge with aeration, adding further sophistication and depth. This is a rosé Champagne built less on overt sweetness or fruitiness and more on structure, texture and gastronomic appeal. Its balance of maturity and freshness makes it highly versatile at the table, particularly with duck, tuna, salmon or mushroom-based dishes. Already expressive, the wine also possesses the concentration and composure to evolve beautifully over the coming decade.
