Mac Forbes is one of the finest winemakers in the Yarra Valley, with a heavy focus on making single vineyard pinot noirs that express the unique characteristics of the particular vineyard.. His 2018 Coldstream Pinot Noir (think Yarra Yering, Dominique Portet) is a great expression of the variety. This manages to be fine-boned and delicate while showing a sappy, juicy character on the mid palate; think cranberry, orange peel, raspberry, mint and savoury spice. Good now this will mature and soften over the next five years or so. Worth a quick decant if you can’t wait to enjoy this.
