Elegance, structure and depth define the outstanding Louis Roederer Brut Vintage 2016, a Champagne that reflects both the character of the vintage and the precision of the house style. The 2016 growing season in Champagne was marked by climatic contrasts, resulting in fruit with remarkable concentration balanced by fresh acidity. This wine is crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir, complemented by Chardonnay, sourced from Roederer’s estate vineyards across Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne.

A portion of the wine is vinified in oak, adding subtle texture and complexity, while extended ageing on lees enhances depth and finesse. The result is a Champagne that combines richness with structure, offering both immediate appeal and the capacity for further evolution. The house’s meticulous approach ensures that the wine retains clarity and vibrancy, even as it develops layered complexity.

In the glass, it reveals a harmonious interplay of ripe orchard fruit, citrus and delicate autolytic notes, underpinned by a fine mineral backbone. The 2016 vintage expresses both generosity and tension, with a refined mousse and precise structure guiding the palate. This Champagne is equally suited to celebratory occasions or gastronomic pairings, from shellfish and seafood to roasted poultry and creamy dishes. It is a compelling expression of vintage Champagne, balancing power with finesse.

      Trusted by the professionals

The 2016 Brut Vintage is superb. Rich, dense and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2016 possesses terrific depth and resonance from start to finish. Hints of apricot, dried flowers, chamomile, spice and lightly honeyed notes build in a creamy, ample Champagne that has so much to offer.

      — Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 94 points

Aromas of citrus oil, pear, toasted almonds and brioche introduce the 2016 Brut Vintage, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming Champagne with a lively mousse and a nicely defined finish.

      — William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 93 points

This has a very attractive nose of white peaches, lemons and light brioche with some chalk and minerals. Medium body, fine bubbles and a fresh, creamy finish.

      — James Suckling, 93 points

      Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer is a highly respected Champagne producer located in the historic city of Reims. The renowned Champagne house, founded in the late 1700s, is still owned and operated by the Roederer family. Their signature style consists of an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a touch of Pinot Meunier, which comprises approximately one-fifth of the blend. Louis Roederer's most famous wine is Cristal, a prestigious Champagne that has captured the hearts of wine enthusiasts worldwide. The house was founded in 1833 and aimed to capture foreign markets, particularly Russia. Roederer became the wine of choice for the Russian royal family, and Cristal was created for Tsar Alexander II. Louis Roederer acquired grand cru vineyards in Champagne in 1845, which was unusual for the time as most houses were buying grapes from growers. Today, the Roederer vineyards encompass around 240 hectares of land, with around 25% managed biodynamically. This commitment to sustainable farming practices is a testament to the house's dedication to producing high-quality wines that are both delicious and environmentally responsible.
