Of all the renowned Bordeaux wine producing families, none is more acclaimed that de Bouard.
Hubert de Bouard is responsible for establishing Chateau Angelus as one of the most sought after Right Bank producers, and his wines regularly command extraordinarily high prices and the praise of the best wine critics in the world.
With wine very much in her blood Hubert’s daughter Coralie cut her teeth at Chateau Angelus, before purchasing a 74 acre property in St Emilion with her husband Loic. The Clos de Bouard estate has superb terroir, with clay-limestone soils and a proximity to some iconic estates.
The 2016 Dame de Bouard is Merlot dominant rounded out by old vine Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This is a beautiful medium bodied wine with lots of red fruits, spice and earth and represented a wonderful introduction to the wines of St Emilion.
