Juliane Eller released her first wines in 2013 and basically sold old right away. The now 28-year old took over her parents winery right after finishing her oenology degree with the renowned university in Geisenheim, and turned the entire winery upside down - in the best possible way. Her linear, clean and modern style is as sharp and beautiful as the diamonds on her labels - an ambiguity of her own name as well as the evolution of a raw diamond (grapes) to a jewel (wine).
The grapes for this wine come from their vineyards in and around Alsheim. The fruit was hand-picked selective harvest after maturity. For an ideal extraction of aromatic substances, the grapes are gently grinded in the winery and left in their own juice for several hours. The fermentation takes place with the vineyards own yeast in stainless steel tanks. After several months of storage on the whole yeast this wine is bottled in spring time.
The JuWel Riesling is full of peach and lime scents. On the palate, it presents itself with a great juiciness. Moderate in alcohol. The precise game of residual sugar and acidity gives it finesse and lightness. Perfect for fish, poultry and white meat dishes… and especially enjoyable in your free time!
