      Product Description:
The Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spätlese 2024 is a finely balanced, naturally sweet Riesling from one of the Middle Mosel’s most distinguished vineyard sites. Produced by the celebrated Joh. Jos. Prüm estate, it combines the additional ripeness and concentration of the Spätlese category with the delicacy, freshness and precision characteristic of the producer. Graacher Himmelreich is classified as a VDP.GROSSE LAGE® and occupies slopes overlooking the Mosel River near the village of Graach. The vineyard faces predominantly south to southwest and is composed of readily warmed blue and grey slate soils. Natural water channels running through the hillside provide the vines with a steady supply of moisture, supporting balanced ripening throughout the growing season.

The 2024 release displays an intense yet refined aromatic profile of tropical fruit, citrus peel, green herbs and freshly weathered slate. On the palate, generous fruit and natural sweetness are shaped by pronounced acidity, saline minerality and a firm, finely structured core. Grapefruit peel, peach and apricot flavours are complemented by savoury herbal nuances and a subtle pith-like bitterness that contributes definition. Despite its concentration, the wine remains elegant and crystalline, with its sweetness closely integrated into its mineral framework. At 8% alcohol, it possesses remarkable lightness while delivering impressive depth and persistence. The finish is long, bright and mouth-watering, carrying lemon zest, grapefruit pith and cool slate-driven notes. Its combination of acidity, sweetness and mineral structure gives the wine considerable potential for graceful development in bottle. It is an excellent companion to spicy Asian cuisine, roast pork, poultry, seafood, pâté and moderately rich cheeses.

      Reviews & Accolades
“The 2024 Riesling Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese offers a salty wet slate aroma with a savor reminiscent of lichen and citrus peel. All about it is precise, stony, linear, crystalline and bright. You almost forget that this is a Spätlese, as its sweetness and acidity seem to be bound absolutely to the sunken salty slate that makes the mouth water endlessly. The 2024 has brilliance, poise, absolute structure and very fine bones. The finish is full of lemon zest.” — Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous, 95 Points

“Juicy and well structured with quite a firm core, this makes a bold statement. There’s a hint of bitterness interwoven with the pronounced acidity to give this a firm core. Serious minerality, but also plenty of grapefruit peel and pith flavors in the long, slightly austere finish.” — Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com, 94 Points

“The 2024 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese offers an intense, refined and elegant bouquet of tropical fruits, weathered wet slate and greenish herbs and grass. Very elegant and refined but also lush and savory on the palate, this is another sophisticated Spätlese that combines the juiciness and fruit intensity of the Badstube with the saline and crystalline finesse of the Graacher Himmelreich.” — Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, 94 Points
