Grosset Piccadilly Chardonnay 2020

Grosset Wines is an independently owned winery, producing seven highly regarded premium wines each vintage. The estate vineyards, which are ACO certified organic, are hand-tended and each bunch of grapes is harvested at optimum ripeness. The winemaking process is gentle and uncomplicated. With dedication, discipline and the application of knowledge garnered through decades of experience, the result is the finest expression of variety and place.

The 2020 vintage of their Piccadilly Chardonnay by Grosset was barrel fermented in French oak barriques (40% new) for 10 months; partial natural malolactic fermentation. Unfined – suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Drinking beautifully now or cellar for 15 years. 

A fuller figured chardonnay but not without the zing and zest of Adelaide Hills acidity. It’s a wine of chardonnay seduction, layering in creamy, nougat-like characters, cashew nut, green herb and, of course, nectarine, ripe apple, lime in coconut characters (thanks Harry N). It tastes good! Soft, flowing, lavish in its presence, a bit pudgy (!) too.
