Fontodi Case Via Pinot Nero 2018

Fontodi is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico. More precisely in the valley that opens south of the town of Panzano called "Conca d'oro". A terroir renowned for centuries for its vocation for quality viticulture. This is due to the unique combination of high altitude, clay soils, great brightness and a fantastic microclimate, warm, dry and with a wide temperature range.

All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes from their own vineyards, harvested by hand, carefully chosen and vinified in a way that enhances the character of the vines and the territory.

A Pinot Noir, the “Case Via”, intriguing in its aromas and delicious on the palate, for a refined and never predictable sip. From careful vinification and 18 months of rest in barrique, a splendid red is born, produced in the heart of the Chianti Classico using an international vine variety. It is a fragrant and fruity Pinot Noir of a unique elegance.

Mulberry, dark plum, smoky clay and earthy notes on the nose. It's medium to full bodied with chewy tannins. Juicy with a chalky texture and lively acidity. Pure and structured with a flavourful finish. - James Suckling, 95 Points
