Crafted from the exceptional Block 2 of The Elms vineyard, the Felton Road Dry Riesling captures the purity and vibrancy of Central Otago’s terroir. Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, this wine undergoes a slow fermentation process, achieving almost complete dryness. The wine rests on fine lees for added palate weight before being bottled with minimal processing to preserve its delicate and expressive Riesling characteristics. This minimal intervention approach ensures that each sip reflects the meticulous care taken in every step of the winemaking process, from the vineyard to the bottle.

Much more delicate than the Heaphy Old Vine Riesling and still shows ripe citrus as well as a touch of white blossom. Pure, not bone dry. In fact the sweetness shows more on the finish than it does in the Heaphy. Extremely pure and very long. Should age well.
Slightly flinty, with braided flavours of green apple, citrus oil, clover honey and sweet basil, this lithe wine has driving, zesty acidity and finely pithy phenolics. The citrus oil returns with some earthy, gravelly minerality as the delicately aromatic palate tapers down to a very long finish. A refined and elegant wine with plenty of energy and the impeccable balance which will allow it to develop over a long period. Drink: 2025 – 2039.
Pure, floral aromas of lime peel, peaches, flint and white blossoms. The palate is light-bodied with high-energy acidity, giving notes of yellow apples, candied lemon zest, tangerines and slate. Tense and refined with an underlying texture. Vibrant and tangy. Drink or hold.
Felton Road is a benchmark producer from Central Otago, renowned for its commitment to organic and biodynamic practices. Founded in 1991, the winery follows a 100% estate policy, ensuring that all the grapes come from its four vineyard properties, each meticulously managed with sustainability at the forefront. Led by winemaker Blair Walter, viticulturist Gareth King, and proprietor Nigel Greening, Felton Road’s approach to winemaking is rooted in a philosophy of minimal intervention. The winery employs gravity flow, wild yeasts, and avoids fining and filtration, allowing the true character of the fruit and terroir to shine through in every bottle. Felton Road’s dedication to preserving the natural environment through organic and biodynamic practices has made it a leader in the New Zealand wine industry.

A vibrant and inviting nose that combines fresh spring flowers, talc, and ripe orchard fruits, with a delicate mineral undertone.
The palate is rich with ripe apple and pear, complemented by a burst of pink grapefruit and subtle mineral notes, creating a balanced and dynamic experience.
A surprisingly luscious finish for a dry wine, with a harmonious balance of fruit and crisp acidity, showcasing the power of the fruit and the expressive terroir of Central Otago.
