Delicate coastal freshness and aristocratic Provençal heritage define the 2024 Domaines Ott Clos Mireille Cœur de Grain Rosé, drawn from the Clos Mireille estate set directly beside the Mediterranean shoreline at La Londe-les-Maures. The vineyards rest on schist soils facing the sea, where constant marine breezes moderate the heat and preserve acidity, giving the wine its distinctive saline lift.
A classic blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle forms the backbone, crafted in the estate’s traditional Cœur de Grain style that emphasises purity, finesse and aromatic precision. Gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation maintain clarity of fruit while careful élevage on fine lees provides subtle texture. The 2024 vintage shows a luminous pale rose-gold colour and a refined aromatic profile, immediately elegant yet quietly complex. In the glass, ripe orchard fruit and citrus tones are layered with floral and maritime nuances that speak directly to the vineyard’s seaside position.
Compared with many Provençal rosés, Clos Mireille offers greater structure and depth while remaining graceful and refreshing. The wine is particularly suited to fine seafood cuisine, where its minerality and brightness shine. Though irresistibly approachable in youth, it has the balance and concentration to develop further nuance over several years, especially in large-format bottle.

“While the Romassan is plush, the Clos Mireille is all about delineation and precision. The fruit is pure and detailed, delivering Provence rosé at its most refined.”
“Beautifully textural and restrained, showing melon, rose water and herbs with a salty, mouthwatering finish and impressive mineral depth.”
“Marked by a fresh, saline character from its proximity to the sea, with bright citrus acidity and elegant white fruit.”
From Alsace to Provence, Marcel Ott’s search for exceptional terroir culminated in 1896 with the founding of what would become Domaines Ott. His vision—to elevate the wines of Provence to global acclaim—was quietly radical. Rather than chase trends, Ott focused on noble varieties, low yields, and soil-first viticulture at a time when few in the region did. Over the next decades, he acquired three distinct estates—Château de Selle, Clos Mireille, and Château Romassan—each restored with meticulous care and a long-term view that continues to define the family’s legacy.
The unmistakable Ott bottle, created by Marcel’s son René in 1932, reflects the brand’s confidence and singular identity. Modelled after the cypress trees and ancient amphorae of Provence, it stands as a symbol of both heritage and innovation. While others may have sought broader adoption, the Ott family reserved its use for their own wines—quietly reinforcing their commitment to doing things differently.
Today, Domaines Ott remains a benchmark for Provençal wine, with all vineyards farmed using organic and biodynamic-inspired practices. Now under the Roederer Collection umbrella, the estates continue to honour Marcel Ott’s philosophy: to craft wines of integrity and precision that express their sites, their region, and the passage of time.
At Domaines Ott, wine is not just made—it’s cultivated through time, intention, and an enduring respect for the land. Across four generations, the Ott family has remained anchored to a vision that blends traditional know-how with careful innovation. Each estate—Château de Selle, Clos Mireille, and Château Romassan—is treated as a living organism, where low-impact viticulture and an uncompromising pursuit of quality go hand in hand.
Viticulture here is deeply manual and rooted in observation. Every vine is tended by hand, with 600 hours of work poured into each hectare annually—double the regional average. Each step, from pruning to harvest, is dictated by the rhythms of the plant, not the pressures of production. The estates’ signature terraces, or restanques, allow for deep-rooted vines and naturally balanced fruit, supported by long fallow periods that restore soil health between plantings.
In the cellar, minimal intervention meets maximum precision. Fermentations unfold under gravity; temperatures are carefully moderated; ageing is slow and considered. It’s a process designed not to shape the wine, but to reveal it. The result is a portfolio of wines that express Provence in its purest form—vivid, textured, and entirely site-driven.
Aromas of white peach, apricot and white cherry layered with orange zest, sea breeze salinity, delicate rose petal and faint herbal notes.
Medium-bodied with flavours of nectarine, citrus and red berries supported by vibrant acidity, fine mineral tension and a gentle savoury undertone.
Clean and persistent, leaving lingering citrus peel, subtle spice and a mouth-watering maritime freshness.
