Structure, depth, and meticulous élevage define this outstanding village-level Chablis from Domaine Moreau-Naudet. The 2024 vintage is sourced from approximately 30 parcels across the appellation, including sites in Préhy, Courgis, Chablis, and Chichée, each contributing distinct soil profiles and exposures that enhance complexity and balance. The domaine is known for its uncompromising vineyard practices, including low yields, organic principles, and hand-harvesting, ensuring optimal fruit quality and site expression. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts, a relatively rare and deliberate choice in Chablis that allows the wine to develop greater aromatic nuance and authenticity. The wine undergoes a slow and careful vinification, followed by extended maturation, spending around 20 months on lees, significantly longer than typical for village Chablis. This prolonged ageing contributes to its signature texture, building depth and a subtle creaminess while preserving freshness and mineral tension.

In the glass, the 2024 reveals a poised and layered profile, combining classic Chablis minerality with added richness and structure. Citrus and orchard fruit notes are supported by saline undertones and a lightly creamy mid-palate, reflecting both terroir and élevage. This is a wine that sits above its appellation level, offering both immediate drinkability and the capacity to evolve over time. The balance between vibrancy and texture gives it versatility at the table, particularly with seafood, oysters, and poultry dishes. Domaine Moreau-Naudet’s commitment to traditional methods and extended ageing results in a Chablis of notable character, precision, and quiet power.

      Domaine Moreau-Naudet

When Stéphane Moreau took over his family’s Chablis estate in 1993, he quietly reshaped its future. Influenced by Burgundy’s most revered growers—Vincent Dauvissat, Didier Dagueneau, and Clos Rougeard’s Nadi Foucault—he reintroduced time-honoured, pre-industrial methods that brought a new clarity and complexity to the wines. His deep curiosity and instinctive talent positioned Domaine Moreau-Naudet as one of the most exciting names in Chablis, championing an expression of terroir that was tactile, precise, and anything but conventional.

Following Stéphane’s untimely passing in 2016, his wife Virginie Moreau and assistant winemaker Coco chose to carry on the work he’d started. With the support of a tight-knit circle of growers and a clear commitment to the estate’s original philosophy, they have ensured continuity—both in spirit and in quality. Under Virginie’s watch, the domaine hasn’t just survived; it has strengthened its standing, earning a coveted two-star rating in *La Revue du Vin de France*, just behind Raveneau and Dauvissat.
