Product Description:
Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy Bourgogne Blanc 2024 is a refined Chardonnay from a historic family estate based in Puligny-Montrachet. Established in 1820, Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy has remained connected to the village for more than six generations and today farms approximately seven hectares of vineyards. This Bourgogne Blanc provides an accessible introduction to the estate’s precise and terroir-focused approach to white Burgundy. The vines used for the cuvée have an average age of approximately 21 years, contributing freshness, aromatic clarity and balanced concentration. The wine is matured for eleven months in barrel before spending a further seven months in stainless-steel tanks. The producer primarily uses barrels that have previously held between one and five wines, limiting overt oak influence and allowing the fruit and mineral character to remain central.
The 2024 wine offers a beautifully aromatic profile shaped by ripe fruit, delicate floral nuances and a subtle hazelnut character. Its palate is mineral and crystalline, with measured acidity providing definition and energy. A rounded texture brings gentle generosity while retaining the clean, finely composed style associated with the domaine. The finish is fresh and harmonious, carrying ripe fruit and restrained nutty notes with good persistence. Although immediately appealing, the producer suggests an ageing potential of approximately four to five years. It may be served as an aperitif or paired with fish, white meats, shellfish and lightly creamy dishes.
