Domaine Collotte Gevrey-Chambertin 2023 is a refined Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir from one of Marsannay’s most closely watched family domaines. The Collotte family has grown vines in Marsannay-la-Côte for four generations, with Philippe Collotte first bottling wine under the family name in 1981. Today, the domaine is run with the involvement of his daughter Isabelle Collotte, who joined after completing her viticulture and oenology studies in Beaune. The estate farms vineyards across Marsannay, Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, giving the wines a clear view of the northern Côte de Nuits. This Gevrey-Chambertin is made from Pinot Noir grown on village-level parcels, with vines planted in 1955 in Les Evocelles and En Champs, just below the Premier Cru Champeaux sector.
The 2023 vintage is crafted with a classic, detail-focused approach designed to express the character of its terroir. The grapes are fully destemmed, followed by a cold soak before fermentation, and the wine is matured in French oak barrels for around 16 months before bottling with minimal filtration. Domaine Collotte’s approach favours transparency across its terroir cuvées, allowing each site to show its own aromatic nuance and structure. In style, this Gevrey-Chambertin combines discreet persistence on the nose with a structured, powerful and well-balanced palate. The wine carries the depth expected from Gevrey-Chambertin while retaining finesse, freshness and fine tannic detail. With its old-vine fruit, savoury complexity and polished frame, it is a strong match for red meat, pâté en croûte, meat pies, duck, goose and other characterful poultry dishes.

Domaine Collotte, established by Philippe Collotte in 1981, has become a respected name in Burgundy’s wine world. For four generations, the Collotte family has cultivated vineyards in the Marsannay region, with a focus on organic and sustainable farming practices. Philippe’s daughter Isabelle joined the estate in 2013 after completing her viticulture and oenology studies, bringing a new level of refinement to the domaine’s winemaking process. Today, Domaine Collotte farms 17 hectares of vines across Marsannay, Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny, crafting wines that are both elegant and expressive, with a strong emphasis on terroir.
Domaine Collotte’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for the land and a commitment to expressing the true character of each vineyard. The Collottes follow organic practices and utilise minimal intervention in the winery to allow the vineyards' natural character to shine. All wines are vinified and aged with a consistent approach to highlight the subtle nuances of the terroir. This philosophy ensures that each wine from Domaine Collotte embodies the purity and distinctiveness of its origin, with a focus on balance, elegance, and ageing potential.
