Tasting Notes
Nose - White Fruit, Toast, Wet Stone
Smelling of ripe citrus, white stone fruits and classic notes of toast.
Palate - Intense, Ripe Fruits, Bursting Acidity
Lush ripe fruits swells across the palate, keeping everything fresh and bright.
Finish - Saline, Mouth Coating, Stony
There is excellent richness and concentration to the markedly powerful larger-scaled flavors that coat the palate on the overtly stony, dry and compact finale.
A healthy yield of 45 hl/ha. A paler colour and a more classic bouquet, all in white fruit, which swells across the palate, delivers class and charm, the acidity is really well integrated. Excellent persistence, this is a fine-boned rendition rather than muscular, and you barely see the wood. Drink from 2027-2034. - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, 93-95 Points.
The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru was taken from tank rather than barrel. This was primal on the nose and difficult to read. The palate is more expressive: finely tuned with a fine bead of acidity, tensile and saline, it does not possess the complexity of Raveneau’s Les Clos tasted an hour or two before, but it has great penetration and a compelling flinty finish. Excellent. - Neal Martin, Vinous, 93-95 Points.
From a huge 2.9 ha parcel Here too the nose is presently dominated by reduction and wood toast. More interesting are the sleek, intense and ultra-fresh middleweight plus flavors that possess excellent size, richness and power where the latter suffuses the sappy, muscular and saliva-inducing, moderately dry and compact finale. This very promising effort is going to need at least a decade to realize its full potential. Impressive. - Burghound.com, 92-95 Points.
