A biodynamic benchmark Chardonnay from one of Australia’s most visionary estates.
The 2024 Cullen Kevin John Chardonnay continues its legacy as one of the country’s most profound expressions of the variety. Grown on dry-farmed, biodynamically certified vines planted between 1976 and 1988 in Wilyabrup, this wine reflects not only place, but purpose—crafted without fining, filtration or additions, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete eggs, amphorae and biodynamic oak puncheons (80% new).
The 2024 vintage—Margaret River’s hottest and driest on record—delivered power and fruit concentration in spades. Yet, true to Cullen’s style, the wine remains poised and crystalline. Expect a vibrant core of stone fruit, chamomile, almond and white florals on the nose. The palate follows with layered peach, fig, Bosc pear and citrus stretched across taut phenolic lines. Oak is present but perfectly absorbed. It’s a wine that combines sheer density with energy, clarity, and length.
Under Vanya Cullen’s stewardship, this wine has become a masterclass in biodynamic terroir expression. Whether you drink it now or cellar for two decades, the Kevin John is a reference-point Chardonnay.

A wine of tremendous power and concentration... captures much of the Kevin John DNA
Elegance personified, with energy and focus and the signs of very early complexity.
Clarity and purity of the fruit... a delightfully seamless drinking experience.
Positively dripping with golden flavour and energy, but so very good.
Rich and generous... a clean finish with perfectly judged phenolics.
