Situated on the route that leads from Montalcino to Sant’Antimo Abbey, the farm and agritourism Ventolaio reveals to all who reach this place the beauty of its land. The old and typical farmhouse is today the house of Family Fanti: Luigi, Maria Assunta, Baldassarre and Manuele. Today the farm Ventolaio has a size of about 14 hectares divided into 8 hectares for the production of Brunello di Montalcino, 2 for Rosso di Montalcino and 4 for sant’Antimo. Around the vineyards are about 1700 olive trees from which by a cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil is obtained.
Brunello Di Montalcino from Ventolaio spends time in steel tanks with control of the fermentation temperature. Maceration on the skins for 20-30 days. The wine is the aged for approximately 48 months in Slavonian and French oak barrels with an average capacity of around 30 hl.
A firm and silky red with plum and berry aromas and hints of chocolate and cedar. Medium-to full-bodied and a round and creamy texture from the ripe tannins. Long and flavorful. Give this time to reveal all it has to offer. Try after 2021. - jamessuckling.com, 94 points
