Product Description:
A study in precision and quiet depth. Mount Mary Chardonnay 2023 distils the character of a cool Yarra Valley season into a wine of striking purity. Barrel-fermented and aged for eleven months in French oak, around a third new, it captures the tension between fruit generosity and mineral definition. No malolactic fermentation was carried out, preserving a vivid line of natural acidity through its layered texture.
The fruit, drawn entirely from the Mount Mary estate, is handled with restraint to highlight detail rather than weight. Citrus, white peach and pear notes flow across a frame of flint, almond and chalk. It is a wine that speaks softly but with conviction, offering clarity, shape and a sense of unforced power.
