A Vintage of Vibrancy and Concentration
Louis Roederer Brut Champagne 2015 is a masterpiece of balance and complexity, revealing the extraordinary characteristics of the vintage and the exceptional terroir of the Verzy estate. The 2015 harvest, marked by a hot, dry summer and a cool finish, yielded a smaller crop, resulting in a Champagne with remarkable intensity and concentration. This vintage is dominated by Pinot Noir, particularly from the renowned Verzy vineyards, adding a rich depth of flavour and structure, complemented by the elegance of Chardonnay.

A slow maturation process on lees for over four years followed by a minimum of six months post-disgorging has allowed this Champagne to develop a round, creamy texture while retaining its vibrant freshness. The result is a beautifully structured wine with complex layers of brioche, red fruit, and delicate spices, offering a refined and balanced experience from start to finish. With its bold personality, Louis Roederer Brut Champagne 2015 is already exceptional, but it promises to evolve further with time.

The 2015 reveals the natural intensity and remarkable concentration of Verzy Pinot noirs from a spectacularly continental vintage. - Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Cellar Master

    Trusted by the professionals

From the hot 2015 vintage which produced uneven results across the Champagne region comes this bright and fruity Champagne which benefited from grapes at the highest elevation in Verzy adding freshness and coolness to the palate. Brioche and strawberry patisserie notes on the nose with a touch of black pepper. Filled with red summer fruits on the palate, raspberries and strawberries from the majority of Pinot Noir in the blend (70%), this has a slightly full texture with crisp edges and juicy core. Fun, lovely freshness and exciting acidity but remaining round and wide. A gourmet style and one that Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon calls a ‘climate change’ vintage yet this keeps focus with tang and a touch of spice on the finish too.

    — Decanter, 94 Points

A bright, chalky Champagne, finely balanced and appealing, with a range of nectarine and strawberry fruit flavors, plus notes of almond biscotti, pink grapefruit pith and elderflower. Packs a vivacious mousse that dances a foxtrot on the palate, carrying the flavors on the racy, lingering finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

    — Winespectator, 94 Points

Denser and more detailed than the Collection 244. Very clean and fresh with some greenery. Repays attention, and it may develop further in bottle.

    — Jancis Robinson, 17+ Points

    Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer is a highly respected Champagne producer located in the historic city of Reims. The renowned Champagne house, founded in the late 1700s, is still owned and operated by the Roederer family. Their signature style consists of an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a touch of Pinot Meunier, which comprises approximately one-fifth of the blend. Louis Roederer's most famous wine is Cristal, a prestigious Champagne that has captured the hearts of wine enthusiasts worldwide. The house was founded in 1833 and aimed to capture foreign markets, particularly Russia. Roederer became the wine of choice for the Russian royal family, and Cristal was created for Tsar Alexander II. Louis Roederer acquired grand cru vineyards in Champagne in 1845, which was unusual for the time as most houses were buying grapes from growers. Today, the Roederer vineyards encompass around 240 hectares of land, with around 25% managed biodynamically. This commitment to sustainable farming practices is a testament to the house's dedication to producing high-quality wines that are both delicious and environmentally responsible.
