Originally introduced in 2009, as a replacement to the celebrated 15-year-old and defined one of the most appealing new Islay releases in years. The additional three years in the cask mellows the whisky adding to the complexity allowing the rich and viscous mouthfeel to remain. Unfortunately, the distillery ran out of this precious liquid and the line was discontinued at the end of 2016. Grab your bottle while you still can!
The nose is big but soft with instant aromas butter and salt followed by honey-toasted mallet. The palate has a stunning viscosity coating the mouth with ease. A blend of sea salt and peat. Spice and dark chocolate with hints of toffee and raisins. Stays with you long after the first sip. Perfectly balanced.
