80% Grenache, 10% Mourv?dre, 7% Syrah 3% Cinsault. Finesse, purity of fruit, complexity: Naturally fermented and raised without any new oak, this is 2014 Ch?teauneuf at its most seductively pulpy and pure. As there was no Vielles Vignes bottling this year, the fruits of the centurion vines in Charbonni?res, les Esquierons and les Gallimardes are, not insignificantly, on display in this cuv?e. The wine is perfumed and bright (strawberry, red cherry, grenadine) and the textural palate, again offers beautifully tangy, jubey red fruit notes as well as some mineral crunch and a kiss of earthy, subtle forest floor complexity. The product of a cool season, old vines, low yields, natural fermentation and no new oak (and almost exclusively large foudre). It's a classy, detailed Ch?teauneuf.
