Product Description:
Flint, finesse, and six generations of savoir-faire.
The 2024 Sancerre from Domaine Christian Salmon is a benchmark expression of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc—clean, mineral, and unadorned. Sourced from the family’s 15 hectares in the prized Côteaux Buétons, the wine is grown on ancient limestone soils rich in fossilised oyster shells. It’s these Kimmeridgian marls that give the Salmon wines their defining mineral streak and tension. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on lees in stainless steel, this wine is crafted for purity, not embellishment.
It’s a different rhythm to the tropical or grassy styles often associated with Sauvignon Blanc. Here, the focus is citrus, herbs, crushed stone and saline clarity. This 2024 vintage shows precision and restraint—lime, lemon zest and a trace of mint on the nose, followed by a palate that walks the line between chalky minerality and juicy lift. The finish is taut and refreshing, with a subtle echo of citrus and clean acidity.
Ideal with goat cheese, oysters or green asparagus, but just as compelling on its own. Drink now through 2027.
