Product Description
The Billecart-Salmon Cuvée 200 1.5L Magnum is a remarkable expression of Champagne craftsmanship, celebrating 200 years of the house’s dedication to quality and family savoir-faire. Founded in 1818, Champagne Billecart-Salmon is still family-run, with the seventh generation of the Billecart family, under the leadership of Mathieu Roland-Billecart, continuing to uphold its reputation as one of Champagne’s finest producers.
This special bicentenary release is a multi-vintage blend from four exceptional harvests: 2000, 2003, 2008, and 2012, representing a harmonious balance of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier. The grapes hail from eight Grand Crus within the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs regions, with 50% vinified in oak barrel, adding complexity and texture to the wine.
Only 1,818 magnums and 18 Jeroboams were produced, making this an exclusive and exceptional release to commemorate Billecart-Salmon’s bicentenary.
This exceptional Cuvée 200 pairs wonderfully with refined dishes such as fine vegetable ravioli, creamy celery with Cévennes chestnuts, or grilled seafood. Its complexity and balance make it a perfect match for a wide range of culinary delights.
Maker
Founded in 1818 by Nicolas-François Billecart and Élisabeth Salmon, Champagne Billecart-Salmon has remained a family-run business for over 200 years. With deep roots in the village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, near Épernay, the house has maintained its commitment to producing exceptional champagne across seven generations. Today, Mathieu Roland-Billecart, the seventh generation of the Billecart family, oversees the production of these exquisite wines.
Billecart-Salmon has built its reputation through quality, precision, and innovation. The vineyards, spanning over 300 hectares across 40 crus in the Champagne region, are carefully tended to by Denis Blée and his team, ensuring each grape is treated with respect to its heritage. The estate's dedication to producing elegant, balanced wines is further exemplified by its innovative approach to blending and cellaring. Billecart-Salmon is known for its exceptional attention to detail, from careful vineyard management to small batch production, all done to preserve the freshness, richness, and purity of the Champagne.
