Don Julio traces its history to 1942, when Don Julio González began making tequila in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. His approach placed particular emphasis on quality and careful agave cultivation, establishing a house that would become closely associated with premium aged tequila.
Made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, Don Julio's range moves from the fresh agave character of Blanco through oak-aged Reposado and Añejo to the extended maturation of Don Julio 1942 and rare Extra Añejo expressions.

Don Julio 1942
Don Julio 1942 is the house's best-known aged expression, created in tribute to the year Don Julio González began his tequila-making journey.
Made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and produced in small batches, 1942 is an Añejo tequila aged for more than two years in American white oak barrels. Its extended maturation develops the richer vanilla, caramel, roasted agave and oak character for which the expression has become known.
Designed primarily as a sipping tequila, Don Julio 1942 can be served neat, over ice or in dedicated tequila glassware.
Don Julio 1942 Bottle Sizes & Limited Editions
One of the distinctive features of our Don Julio range is the breadth of Don Julio 1942 bottle sizes available.
The collection includes 50ml, 375ml, 750ml and 1.75L formats, alongside multi-size bundles bringing several expressions of the distinctive 1942 bottle together. The 50ml miniature is also available in selected multi-packs.

Don Julio Blanco, Reposado & Añejo
The core Don Julio range provides a useful progression through the principal styles of tequila maturation.
Don Julio Blanco is unaged, keeping the emphasis on Blue Weber Agave with fresh citrus, herbal and peppery characteristics. Its freshness makes it particularly versatile for Margaritas, Palomas and other tequila cocktails, as well as drinking neat or over ice.
Don Julio Reposado is matured in American white oak, introducing additional spice, vanilla and oak while retaining the underlying agave character.
Don Julio Añejo receives longer maturation, developing a richer profile with greater oak influence and depth. It provides a natural progression for drinkers moving from Reposado towards longer-aged sipping tequilas such as Don Julio 1942.
Don Julio Rosado
Don Julio Rosado takes the house in a different direction, using cask finishing to introduce additional fruit and wine-influenced character to the tequila.
Its distinctive pink-toned presentation and softer, fruit-led profile set it apart from both the traditional core range and the longer-aged Don Julio 1942.

Don Julio Extra Añejo
At the mature end of the Don Julio collection are rare Extra Añejo expressions including Don Julio Ultima Reserva and Don Julio Real.
Extra Añejo tequila must spend at least three years in oak, placing considerably greater emphasis on maturation than Blanco, Reposado or standard Añejo tequila.
Don Julio Ultima Reserva holds particular significance within the house, having been created to commemorate Don Julio González's final agave harvest. Extended maturation brings greater depth, oak and complexity, positioning it firmly as a sipping and collector expression.
