The Vranken Demoiselle Parisienne Millesime 2015, a luxurious champagne that celebrates the Parisian way of life - refined, chic, and full of joie de vivre. The Demoiselle Parisienne cuvee was introduced in 1985 by the Vranken-Pommery Monopole group. Inspired by Art Nouveau and the pioneering spirit of Louise Pommery, Demoiselle Champagne typically has a higher proportion of Chardonnay characterised boldness, grace and timeless allure.
For Vranken Demoisselle, 2015 was a year marked by intense heat, followed by refreshing late season rain with cool evenings; all of which shaped a truly remarkable vintage. Although yields were reduced, this vintage delivers exquisite quality, both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay excelled, and the wines were balanced with richness, notable fruit intensity. Vranken's Demoiselle Parisienne Millesime Champagne 2015 has a glowing golden hue with a few green accents complemented by a rich and complex bouquet of ripe fruit, delicate floral notes, and hints of butter brioche and lemongrass. The palate has remarkable freshness and intensity, with a silky texture and a long, elegant finish. Its bubbles are delicate and persistent with a very fine strand of foam, that drives a fine mineral finish.

As a young entrepreneur, Paul-François Vranken settled in Champagne in 1976 to set up his own champagne house in the heart of the Sézanne region. Then in 1985, he purchased the Château des Castaignes in Montmort, built on a site named La Demoiselle, a few kilometres away from Epernay. The Château is perched on the hillside, in the heart of a park designed by Edouard Redont who also designed the park of Villa Demoiselle. The idea arose to create a new cuvée for Vranken champagne called La Demoiselle de Champagne, Demoiselle being a common name for the dragonfly, which was an emblem for the Art Nouveau genius René Lalique. The planets seemed to align for the first brut champagne, whose special bottle was a moving tribute to Art Nouveau. In 2004, Paul-François Vranken acquired the Villa Demoiselle to establish the head office of the Champagnes Vranken. Château des Castaignes is therefore the origin of the Demoiselle collection.
From 1978 onwards, Paul-François Vranken and Dominique Pichart, the first winemaker, revolutionised taste by suppressing the cognac spirit (minimal dosage) from their champagnes to create lighter, more modern wines, full of freshness: the Vranken taste is born and with it, the taste of aperitif champagne. The second Cellar Master Pierre-Hubert Crozat is faithful to the style of the Maison that has been developed for over 40 years, he reconciles the demands of style while meeting the demands of the changing climate - he employs sustainable viticulture for the defence of biodiversity in Champagne. All this is the result of a marvellous alchemy between their work and that of a unique know-how from an exceptional region, Champagne.
The first nose is subtle and very floral, with hints of lemongrass. It gives way to a perfume of white flowers with notes of buttered brioche to finish.
Very elegant and lively with the festive fruitiness of the nose. It is pleasant and very balanced on the palate with a lovely fresh finish.
This cuvée Parisienne brut is ideal served with hors d’œuvres. It pairs elegantly with oysters and crustaceans and is perfect with a carpaccio of scallops.
