Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2023 is a striking expression of one of Chassagne-Montrachet’s most revered Premier Cru vineyards, crafted with the domaine’s signature precision and mineral focus. Les Caillerets is renowned for its stony limestone soils, which lend the wine remarkable tension, clarity and drive. In the 2023 vintage, the site produced fruit of both ripeness and freshness, allowing Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey to create a wine that balances layered texture with crystalline energy. The wine opens with refined aromas of citrus rind, white flowers, flint and crushed stone, underpinned by subtle smoky reduction and delicate oak integration.
On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet controlled, delivering impressive depth without sacrificing finesse. A vibrant core of orchard and citrus fruit is wrapped around a finely textured mineral structure, while lively acidity gives the wine lift and persistence. The 2023 vintage shows a slightly richer and more expressive profile than some previous years, yet it retains the domaine’s hallmark precision and tension. Carefully judged élevage enhances complexity while preserving transparency to site. The finish is long, saline and layered with lingering notes of stone fruit, chalk and spice. This is a sophisticated and cellar-worthy white Burgundy that will continue to evolve beautifully with time. It pairs exceptionally well with lobster, roasted poultry, turbot or creamy mushroom dishes.

Boasts aromas of greengage plums and lemon zest, with a blast of limestone minerality and a hint of smoky reduction. Clément says that one third of the 0.17ha parcel at the top of the slope was replanted but that his great-grandfather planted the balance in the 1960s. The texture has great energy and a lovely, silky feel.
The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is terrific, unwinding in the glass with notes of waxy citrus rind, white flowers, freshly baked bread and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and fleshy, with a rich core of fruit, lively acids and a long, nutty finish, it's one of the highlights of the range.
The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has another mineral-driven bouquet with hints of pressed white flower, granite and flint. The fruit remains politely in the background…but it's there. The palate is very well balanced with a richer and more honeyed texture. This is a more hedonistic Chassagne from PYCM compared to other cuvées, with pineapple and passion fruit notes lining the finish.
Established as one of the young rising stars of Burgundy, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey in 2005 left his family Domaine, Marc Colin, where he gained a solid reputation for his outstanding white wines. Pierre-Yves took control of a share of the family vineyards (Domaine Marc Colin) from 2006 vintage. His first vintages have been made from vineyards and growers that he works closely with buying the wine as must and aging the wines in barrels which he has supplied. If the resulting wines meet his standards the barrels of wine purchased are then matured in his own cold cellar below his house in Chassagne Montrachet.
“This is not just one of the top domaines in the Cote de Beaune in Burgundy, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is now well recognised as one of the greatest winemakers and domaines in the world. Consistently producing benchmark wines in each vintage.”

The Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate was born in 2001 from the association of Pierre-Yves Colin (son of Marc) and Caroline Morey (daughter of Jean-Marc). Today they operate 13 hectares in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Their production consists of 92% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir and 3% of Aligoté grape variety. Working about 2 hectares from the family heritage, the other plots have come from different acquisitions over the last fifteen years, as well as a few plots in Fermages.
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey’s philosophy is simple yet profound: to create wines that speak to the unique character of their terroir. By embracing organic and biodynamic farming practices, he ensures that his vines are in harmony with nature, allowing each vineyard’s potential to shine through in the wines. In the winery, Pierre-Yves follows a minimal intervention approach, letting the natural yeast drive fermentation and allowing the wines to mature on their lees to develop depth and complexity. His wines are celebrated for their purity, elegance, and their ability to age gracefully, reflecting the precision of his craftsmanship and the distinctive beauty of Burgundy’s finest vineyards.
Aromas of lemon zest, white flowers, crushed stone, flint, greengage plum and subtle smoky reduction.
Medium to full-bodied with citrus rind, orchard fruit and saline minerality supported by lively acidity and a silky, textured mouthfeel.
A persistent finish showing chalky minerality, gentle spice, citrus freshness and lingering stone fruit complexity.
