      The Hi Nikka is a blend released back in 1964, named after the growing Hi-Fi sound movement, the Hi Nikka Mild is a wonderful, smooth, easy-drinking blended whisky.

      Clean, crisp and smooth with a hint of smoke, rumour has it that the founder of Japanese whisky Masataka Taketsuru had a dram of this almost every day. If it was good enough for the father of Japanese whisky, then it’s good enough for us!

      In 1918, a young Japanese man with an ambition to make genuine whisky went alone to Scotland to unveil the secret of whisky making. He is Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky. Given the chance to go to Scotland, Masataka became the first Japanese ever to master how to make whisky.
