Bright, composed and confidently Margaret River. The 2024 Moss Wood Amy’s Cabernet Blend continues the estate’s quiet mastery of structure and fruit purity. Centred on Cabernet Sauvignon with small portions of Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot, this blend reflects the classic Wilyabrup profile with fine tannin, depth of fruit and a seamless line of acidity.

Each parcel was hand-picked, hand-sorted and fermented in closed stainless-steel tanks with gentle pump-overs to capture colour and aromatics without over-extraction. The wine then spent around eighteen months in seasoned French oak barriques, allowing the fruit’s natural detail to take the lead. The 2024 vintage carries the same precision and polish that has made Amy’s one of Moss Wood’s most consistent releases: elegant, fruit-driven and built for both early enjoyment and medium-term cellaring.

As with all Moss Wood wines, the focus is on integrity of site and vintage. The result is a Cabernet blend that speaks with quiet authority, balanced, structured and unmistakably Wilyabrup.

      Moss Wood

Since 1984, Clare and Keith Mugford have steered Moss Wood with a precision that few Australian estates can match. As both winemakers and viticulturists, the Mugfords have shaped the legacy of this founding Margaret River winery with an unwavering commitment to detail—from vineyard floor to bottle. Moss Wood's philosophy is simple but uncompromising: every decision, whether in the field or in the cellar, must enhance the final wine. It’s this ethos that underpins a portfolio known not only for its consistency and age-worthiness but also for its deep understanding of site, vintage, and vine.

Moss Wood was among the first to believe in the potential of Margaret River, long before the region gained its global renown. Drawing inspiration from Bordeaux, the Mugfords refined a style uniquely suited to Wilyabrup’s coastal environment, instead of trying to copy Europe outright. It’s this balance of innovation and restraint that makes Moss Wood a benchmark—not just for the region, but for Australian wine more broadly.

      Tasting notes

      NOSE
      Dark Fruit and Cedar

Black cherry, mulberry, and blueberry aromas lift with cedar, rose petal, and graphite tones.

      PALATE
      Silky and Defined

Juicy blackcurrant and plum fill the mid-palate, framed by supple tannins, fresh acidity, and subtle oak spice.

      FINISH
      Refined and Persistent

Polished texture and lingering fruit weight leave a lasting impression of balance and purity

Here's the breakdown–83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot. The nose is dominated by bright aromas of cherry chocolate, blueberry, blackberry, marshmallows and rose. Underpinned by tarry and cedar notes and toasted oak. - Kent Street Cellars
