A singular Amarone with lift, clarity and finely tuned power.
Marion’s 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella reflects the vision of Stefano Campedelli and his family: to coax purity and finesse from one of Italy’s richest red wine styles. Working just outside the Valpolicella Classico zone in the Valle di Marcellise, they focus solely on estate-grown fruit, calcareous soils, and traditional methods elevated by meticulous detail.
The wine is built from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, with every grape hand-picked and dried naturally on racks for up to eight weeks in ventilated rooms. Fermentation in stainless steel is long and ambient, followed by 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels—only 10% sees smaller oak, keeping the oak imprint in check. The result is an Amarone with real poise: deep, powerful fruit framed by spice, smoke and tension.
On the palate, it’s all dried cranberry, mocha, dark cherry and sweet spice, underpinned by natural acidity and a savoury edge. Rich and concentrated, but never overblown. A wine to sip slowly, ideally with hard cheeses, braised meats or truffled polenta.

The hottest winery in Veneto? Well, there are several. But one of them is without question Marion...
Depths of tart wild berry fruit and spiced citrus tones excited by vibrant acidity… dark chocolate linger[s] for what seems to be a full minute.
Marion is the project of Stefano Campedelli and his family, who took over the estate in the early 1990s with a clear goal: to produce Valpolicella wines of depth and distinction without sacrificing finesse. Working entirely with estate-grown fruit in the Valle di Marcellise, just outside the traditional Classico zone, the Campedellis have steadily carved out a reputation for precision and integrity. Every element of their process—from hand-harvesting to ambient fermentation—is rooted in care and restraint, reflecting a deep respect for the land and its traditions.
Today, Marion is one of the most quietly revered names in the region. The estate sits between 100–150 metres above sea level on limestone-rich soils, where the vines benefit from optimal drainage and north-south exposure. Their Amarone is a benchmark example of site-driven winemaking—structured and concentrated, yes, but always with lifted aromatics and natural freshness that speaks to the calibre of both vineyard and vision.
Marion’s philosophy blends tradition with a clear-eyed commitment to detail. The Campedelli family believe great wine begins in the vineyard, and their organic-leaning approach prioritises vine health and fruit purity over intervention. In the winery, techniques like natural drying (appassimento), long ambient fermentations, and ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels allow each wine to develop slowly and honestly.
This is Amarone with purpose. Rather than chase power for its own sake, Marion’s style champions tension, savouriness and aromatic clarity. Their wines honour the heritage of Valpolicella, while gently challenging assumptions about what the region’s reds can be. The result: bottlings that are deeply expressive, unmistakably regional, and completely their own.
Aromas of sour cherry, prunes, blackberry, sweet spice and a smoky lift.
Wild berry fruit, spiced citrus and mocha move with texture and vibrant acidity.
Fine structure with lingering notes of liquorice, dark chocolate and dried candy peel.
