Fantini Calalenta Rosato Merlot 2021

Since 1882, the Piccini family has been pursuing a dream, which, over time has become a solid business project: Tell the story of Italian wine through the oenological exellencies of its territory. Piccini1882 includes five niche farms of Italy, all organically run, and its brand is classified as one of the most distinguished Tuscan brand in the world. Today Mario Piccini leads the company, supported by his sisters Martina and Elisa, together with his children Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo who are personally involved in the business activities.

The grapes were harvested manually during the night to preserve their aromas and freshness. The grapes undergo a soft crushing-destemming, then the must is fermented in large steel tanks for 18/22 days at low temperature (10/12°C) to enhance the aromas. After a light and short aging on the lees in steel tanks for 30/35 days, the wine is delicately clarified, filtered and ready to be bottled.

This “Provençal style” rosé has a very pale powder pink colour. Fresh and soft aromas of strawberry, watermelon and pink grapefruit accompanied by pleasant floral notes of rose petals and broom. It stands out for its freshness and refined minerality. Perfect with raw shellfish, vegetarian dishes, fresh cheeses, not too spicy Asian dishes and white meats.
