Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru 2022 is a profoundly expressive Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits, grown exclusively in the Domaine’s monopole vineyard in Vosne-Romanée. The 2022 vintage presented climatic extremes, yet careful viticulture and low yields of around 37.6 hl/ha produced grapes of remarkable concentration and balance. Vinified with traditional Burgundian precision and matured in selected French oak, the wine delivers density and richness while retaining the elegance and transparency typical of DRC. Muscular yet graceful, it shows a sculptural restraint, underpinned by mineral complexity, subtle spice, and a poised acidity that promises decades of evolution.
Harvested by hand in early September, the fruit was sorted meticulously to ensure only the finest berries were used. The result is a wine of linear tension and purity, with flavors of red and black fruit, forest floor, and delicate herbal notes coiling through a refined structure. La Tâche 2022 is built to reward patience, revealing its full depth and harmony over extended cellaring.
Even at this early stage, the wine demonstrates a rare balance between power and finesse. The aromatics and palate combine with a precise frame and persistent minerality, offering an experience that is at once immediate in its vibrancy and promising in its long-term potential. It pairs beautifully with delicate game, roasted duck, or refined mushroom-based dishes that mirror its layered complexity.

Hides its secrets well … a blend of red and black fruit, Earl Grey, undergrowth, and a subtle herbal patina. Linear structure, sapidity and ineffable precision.
Velvety blackberry and plum fruit, firm yet fine-grained tannins, and interminable length, with density and compactness.
Full-bodied, rich and layered with lively acids and sweet, powdery tannins, concluding in a long, gently oak-inflected finish.
Aromatics quite promising; palate a little strict with notes of white pepper, sage, mint, blood orange and star anise. Enigmatic at this stage.
Founded in 1232, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti stands as Burgundy’s most revered estate and one of the most important wine producers in the world. Its modern identity took shape in 1760, when the vineyard then known as La Romanée was acquired by Louis‑François de Bourbon, Prince of Conti, whose name it bears to this day.
Following the French Revolution, the Domaine passed through several hands before being purchased by the Duvault‑Blochet family in 1869. Under their stewardship, the estate expanded to include Échézeaux, Grands‑Échézeaux, Richebourg, and the monopole La Tâche. Romanée‑Saint‑Vivant and Montrachet followed, with Corton‑Charlemagne joining the portfolio in the 21st century.
Today, the Domaine is unique in Burgundy for producing wine almost exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. It is the largest owner of Grand Cru land in the region, and its wines consistently set benchmarks for quality, rarity, and longevity. Few names carry greater weight at global auctions, or command greater trust from collectors than DRC.
The philosophy of Domaine de la Romanée‑Conti is founded on restraint. The goal is not to shape the wine, but to allow each vineyard to speak with clarity and authority.
Farming is organic, yields are deliberately minimal, and selection is uncompromising. Pinot Noir vines are propagated from the Domaine’s own genetic material, preserving an exceptional patrimony of fine‑grained, expressive fruit. In the cellar, intervention is minimal. Fermentations are guided rather than forced, with whole‑cluster inclusion for the reds and maturation in 100 percent new oak chosen for discretion rather than dominance.
Across the range, the wines share a common thread of purity and intensity, yet each cuvée retains its own identity. Romanée‑Conti offers depth and gravitas. La Tâche is expansive and aromatic. Romanée‑Saint‑Vivant is ethereal and floral. Grands‑Échézeaux brings breadth and structure, while Échézeaux shows finesse and savoury detail. Corton‑Charlemagne adds a chiselled, mineral expression of Chardonnay to the collection.
These are wines built on patience, precision, and respect for place. Hard to find, exacting in execution, and quietly definitive.
Sweet red and black berries, rose petals, incense, exotic spice and a subtle lift of orange zest with hints of undergrowth and herbal patina.
Medium-bodied with fine, chiselled tannins and vibrant acidity, evolving through red and black fruit, Earl Grey tea, and forest floor notes.
Lingering black tea, sea salt and refined oak with persistent herbal echoes and mineral tension.
