The difference is "Caves d'Esclans" emphasises the cellars and the winemaking process so fruit under this label is sourced from sourced from the choicest vineyards in the vicinity of the Esclans Valley and nearby in the Cotes de Provence region, while "Château d'Esclans" refers to the estate, thus the focus is single vineyard origins. But enough with semantics, what does this magical estate in the heart of Provence have to offer? Let’s break it down further.

From the Caves d esclans selection, introducing Caves d’esclans Whispering Angel Rosé, considered the worldwide reference for Provence rosé, James Suckling describes it as ‘Deliciously creamy and smooth.’ Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino) grapes, from top vineyards in Esclans Valley and nearby Cotes de Provence. Its pale and pleasing blush colour draws you in. Bone dry, full and lush with a smooth finish. The name was coined by the owner of Château d'Esclans, Sacha Lichine, Whispering Angel evokes a sense of mystery, refinement, and alludes to the ethereal purity of the rose.
The next level up is Caves d’esclans Rock Angel, notably more complex and structured than Whispering Angel, this is clearly in premium territory, giving rosé lovers a bigger and richer wine. Let’s just say, if you enjoy the minerality of a Sancerre, this little cherub will light the way.
Now enter the pearly gates of Chateau d’Esclans. Introducing Chateau d’Esclans Garrus, it is Château d’Esclans’ finest wine. Garrus is made from a single vineyard of nearly 100-year-old vines. Entirely fermented and aged in new large French oak barrels, the powerful and elegant Garrus was at the heart to Sacha Lichine’s vision in 2006 to make rosé grand. Matthew Jukes makes this bold comparison, ‘I sense that Garrus will, one day, be mentioned in the same breath as wines like La Tâche.’  It’s no wonder Garrus is firmly established as a world class, iconic luxury rosé.
