Art meets epoch in a single moment of stillness. The Hibiki 30 Year Old Hiroshi Senju 2025 Artist Limited Edition is a collector’s convergence of Japanese whisky mastery and contemporary visual expression. This ultra-limited release from The House of Suntory elevates the art of blending into an object of aesthetic as well as sensory depth. The liquid is drawn from decades of maturation and the presentation is realised through Senju’s commissioned work Waterfall on Colours “Hibiki”, rendered in ten natural violets and housed in a byōbu-style stand with a reflective base and waterfall motif.

On the palate it unfolds layers of leather, raisin, prune and chestnut, evolving into brown sugar, dried fig, apricot jam, cedar and gingerbread, finishing with cinnamon and Mizunara oak. Restricted to just 100 bottles worldwide, this edition balances presence and rarity with flavour. It sits at the summit of the Hibiki catalogue and belongs to a cultural tradition that values patience, exacting craft and quiet beauty

      Hibiki

Hibiki was introduced in 1989 to mark the 90th anniversary of Suntory, the pioneering house founded by Shinjiro Torii. Its name translates as ‘resonance’, an idea that captures the whisky’s central philosophy: harmony between people and nature, tradition and innovation, and the many individual whiskies brought together in each blend.

Unlike a single malt defined by one distillery, Hibiki draws on the breadth of Suntory’s whisky-making repertoire. Malt and grain whiskies from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries are selected from an extensive range of spirit styles, ages and cask types, then composed by Suntory’s blending team into a seamless whole.

Today, Hibiki stands as the defining expression of Suntory’s art of Japanese blended whisky. Layered yet precise, its character is built around balance rather than intensity, bringing fruit, florals, gentle sweetness, spice and oak into considered harmony.

Its presentation has become equally recognisable. The distinctive 24-faceted bottle references Japan’s traditional 24 seasonal divisions, transforming the philosophy behind the whisky into an understated piece of Japanese design.
