Located in the Nagano Prefecture in the Japan Alps, the Mars Distillery distilled this special release single malt whisky between 2016 & 2017. It was mainly in sherry and bourbon casks within the stone cellars at the Tsunuki Distillery in tropical Kagoshima Prefecture in the south of Japan until bottling in 2020.
This Mars Distillery Komagatake Tsunuki Aging Single Malt Japanese Whisky 700ml 2020 release has aromas of fresh citrus with hints of soft smokiness and sweet candied lemon peel. A soft palate with a smooth mouth-feel, displaying a gentle earthiness from the peat, leading to a long finish.
