Chateau Senejac Haut-Médoc 2016

Located near the vineyards of Margaux, Château Sénéjac Haut-Medoc 2015 comes from one of most famous Crus Bourgeois of the Haut-Médoc. This historic estate is 150 hectares and only 38 are under vine. Château Sénéjac reputation for producing high quality wines grew in the 1980's followed by a new era growth in 1991 when purchased by Lorraine Cordier. 

Château Sénéjac offers a beautiful red colour with brilliant reflections. The first nose is precise, with cherry notes. It is prolonged by spicy notes, sign of the presence of Petit Verdot. Fresh, firm, balanced and smooth. The tannins are silky and distinguished. On the palate, the fruits are ripe and fleshy. The finish is long, precise, with a beautiful aromatic intensity. This vintage thus presents a very beautiful potential of guard, it is an elegant, aromatic wine, of a beautiful tannic smoothness which will delight. This is an elegant Medoc wine with good acid in an absolutely classic style.

The 2016 Sénéjac is wonderfully expressive. Savory, earthy and quite delicate, the 2016 is full of complexity and nuance. Sweet tobacco, dried flowers, mint and leather add shades of nuance to this pretty, inviting Haut-Médoc.

Very charming and precocious with ripe-redcurrant character and a lovely combination of delicate sweetness and supple tannins on the palate, the finish long and silky. Drink or hold. - James Suckling, 92 Points.
