Joh Jos Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese 2019

The Riesling grape enjoys ideal growing conditions in the slate soil and mild climate of the steep, sun-drenched slopes of the Middle Mosel Valley. After a long, continuous vegetation, J. J. Prum provides a careful selection and vinification. The resulting Joh Jos Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese 2019 has an outstanding longevity. It is rich in taste with a fresh, fruit, delicate flavour, and low alcohol content. 

As always there is considerably more depth of fruit here than in the Kabinett-level wines, though not necessarily more overt sweetness. Instead, it is a question of more flesh, more power, and therefore wines that can stand up to richer food. 

Great interplay between delicate exotic-fruit aromas and cool, northerly elements (also apples and fresh herbs) in the nose and on the medium-bodied, concentrated palate, the acidity very bright and stony and driving the very long, whiplash finish.
