Yangarra can arguably lay claim to being Australia’s best wine producer. Winemaker Pete Fraser, backed by the might of owners Kendall-Jackson, has put Yangarra on the map with a suite of stunning releases. In 2016 Pete was rewarded with the James Halliday Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year award.

The 2020 harvest is not one to be forgotten, mainly for all the wrong reasons. The growing season was marred by an extremely hot spring and bushfires ravaging vast areas of Australia. Yangarra feels extremely blessed that in McLaren Vale they were untouched by both the fires and smoke taint. The hot spring did lead to their lowest yields on records but the as the grapes started their ripening process the weather miraculously cooled to one of the most mild ripening seasons. This resulted in wonderful concentration of flavour, retention of natural acidity and brightness of fruit, but above all beautiful finesse and balanced tannins.
