Yangarra Old Vine Grenache 2019
Yangarra can arguably lay claim to being Australia’s best wine producer. Winemaker Pete Fraser, backed by the might of owners Kendall-Jackson, has put Yangarra on the map with a suite of stunning releases. In 2016 Pete was rewarded with the James Halliday Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year award.
The 2019 Yangarra Grenache takes fruit from a dry-grown vineyard planted in 1946. It's not jubey and fruity, nor is it rich and inky - this is an emphatically perfumed, seriously structured, utterly delicious Grenache that will only improve with time in the cellar. This is grown up McLaren Vale Grenache. Such great value too.
