Situated furthest from the Brokenback Range, Belford is distinguished by exceptionally fine, highly weathered soils with a powdery, talc-like consistency. The fruit was handpicked on 23 January in excellent condition and immediately basket pressed to preserve purity and freshness. After two days of cold settling, fermentation began in stainless steel before the fermenting juice was transferred to French oak barriques. The resulting Chardonnay combines the natural generosity of the Belford site with a focused and refined structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wine matured for eight months in French oak barriques, developing texture and subtle spice while retaining the vineyard’s distinctive fruit expression. Floral citrus blossom leads the aromatic profile, joined by nutty oak spice and a delicate suggestion of nutmeg. The palate is rich and dense yet controlled, with generous fruit weight balanced by fresh acidity and a firm structural backbone. Its texture is broad and mouth-filling without becoming heavy, while the oak remains supportive rather than dominant.
