Torbreck Cuv?e Juveniles Grenache Mataro Shiraz 2018
The Torbreck Cuvee Juveniles is a Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro blend. A bold and seductive wine, the Juveniles blend is lively, with an intense aroma of red berry fruits, dark plum, and spice with a fresh, mid palate and a strong finish. Strong flavours of ripe, juicy blackberry and cassis, spiced cherries, minerals and succulent blueberry fruit are balanced with fresh acidity and a fine gentle tannin structure. This wine is a cracker, drinking superbly but will also age beautifully for those who have the patience to cellar it for a couple of years.
Fun Fact - Torbreck Winery :
"Juveniles is a 'cult' Parisian wine bar run by enigmatic ex-pat Englishman, Tim Johnston. He's been in Paris more than twenty years and is a passionate promoter of the Rhone Valley and its wines, particularly individualist, quality minded producers. Torbreck founder David Powell hit it off with Tim over the years, eventually making a wine exclusively for his wine bar in 1999. In keeping with Tim and David's love of Rhone Valley varietals and the fact that they are equally at home in the Barossa, the blend constitutes old-vine Grenache, Mataro (Mourvedre) and Shiraz and was elevaged entirely in stainless steel."
