d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Riesling 2018
The balance between acid and sweetness is the feature, the sweetness enhancing fruit character through the mid palate while the natural acidity unobtrusively tightens the wine’s body ensuring moreishness through its long, lingering finish and an overall sense of finesse.
Since 1912, the Osborn family have tended vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The grapes used in this wine underwent gentle crushing, temperature controlled fermentation and basket pressing prior to bottling. it is rumoured that the inventor of the Stump Jump plough, which enabled a ploughshare to jump over tree roots, had poor eyesight and required regular tests to ensure he could still operate machinery. If you can hold this bottle at arm's length and still read the front label, you can enjoy another glass.
